Wes Fulton is founder and CEO of Fulton Findings and the creator of SuperSMITH Weibull, SuperSMITH Visual, and several special programs for statistical research such as MonteCarloSMITH(TM) and BiWeibullSMITH(TM) software packages. He has 16 years experience as Program Engineer for Garrett AiResearch aerospace systems. He supervised development and production engineering of aircraft flight control projects, and manueuvering fly-by-wire actuation systems. He co-patented the multi-fuseable shaft (a high-performance drive-train device) and is a member of ASME, ASQ, IEEE, and SAE. A lecturer in statistical modeling, he developed the Fulton Factor used in set comparison and originated the concept of assurance that equates reliability and confidence.
Mr. Fulton has over 30 years of programming experience as a private programmer. He developed the first widely-used Weibull software, and he wrote the current life-data analysis package, SuperSMITH(TM), including SuperSMITH(TM) Weibull and SuperSMITH Visual. He received his B.S.M.E. from Georgia Tech and his M.S.M.E. from California State University at Long Beach.
Mr. Carl Tarum is the Director of Software Research at Fulton Findings. His prior experience at Nexteer Automotive included ISO 26262 Functional Safety for Electric Power Steering. Prior roles included Design for Six Sigma Master Black Belt, where he taught, coached, and managed certification records. As a Reliability Engineer, he developed life testing and reliability predictions for hydraulic systems and new development. He has four patents related to steering systems. Additionally, Mr. Tarum developed the SuperSMITH® YBath™ and Help modules. He has conducted extensive research on p-value estimates for goodness of fits and methods to analyze mixtures of failure modes. He received his B.S.M.E from Montana State University, and his M.B.A from the University of Michigan – Flint. He is a licensed in the State of Michigan.
Dr. Robert B. Abernethy is a world leader in Weibull analysis and the author of the Weibull analysis worldwide standard reference . . . The New Weibull Handbook(c). He retired from Pratt & Whitney (P&W) Aircraft after 32 years where he was involved with the development and application of advanced Weibull (including Weibayes) techniques. In addition to the U.S.A., he has produced his Weibull workshop in Australia, China, Japan, Israel, Europe and Canada. Dr. Abernethy is a fellow of ASQ, AIAA, the Society of Automotive Engineers and the Royal Statistical Society. Dr. Abernethy is an SAE Fellow in recognition of his success in developing Weibull Analysis. Dr. Abernethy was the founding Chairman of both SAE G-11 RMS (Reliability, Maintainability, Supportability) Committee and SAE E-33 Aircraft Performance Measurement. He is a past Chairman of ASME Committee on Performance Test Codes 19.1 for which he received the 1988 ASME Gold Medal; and Chief American Delegate to ISO TC30, SC9. Dr. Abernethy holds the patent on the J58 engine that powered the fastest aircraft in the world for many years during the cold war (the Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird), and he holds the patent on the afterburner control for the P&W F-100 engine. He was a U.S. Navy Scholar as well as a Fulbright Scholar to Great Britain and holds four degrees in engineering and statistics.
